After coming up short on a double jump Bronte Holland was flung over the bars where he was hit by his bike, as a result he was air lifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne where it was confirmed he had damaged his C7 neck bone.

Doctors first thought a segment of bone had penetrated his spinal chord but after a marathon 5 hour operation on Wednesday morning surgeons where able to confirm that the bone fragment had not penetrated the spinal chord and was in fact just resting against it. During the operation surgeons successfully fused the C7 bone. At this point in time Bronte still has no feeling from the chest down. Friends and family have remained strong and hopefully and have been with the 19-year-old since the accident and all remain positive and hopeful of improvement.

Donations are being accepted to help alleviate some of the financial burden on the Holland family.
